Victim Assistance The
Wellford Police Dept. Victim Assistance is comprised of a Law
Enforcement Victim Specialist who provides support services to all
crime victims in the City of Wellford. The Victim Specialist provides
crisis counseling, referrals to partnering community agencies for
shelter, professional counseling and financial assistance, court
preparation, accompaniment and transportation to and from court
proceedings, information regarding current case status, informing
victims and witnesses of their legal rights and assistance with filing
Victims Compensation to help with medical expenses, lost wages,
counseling, and funeral expenses.
